We took a family road trip to Julian this weekend. Julian is a quaint mountain town known for apple pie and apple cider. It was also, apparently, a gold mining town in the late 1800's. And we actually took a tour of one of the mines. We walked about 1,000 feet in, saw the tracks they used, all their tools and the strains of gold they were following. We even panned for gold afterwards!
