Summer 2015 so far...
Cassie is officially a 3rd graders and Gwen is a 1st grader!
We started off our Summer with cooking camp for Gwen.
We've done a little pottery here and there...
And lots and lots of trips to the beach :)

Sedona/Grand Canyon 2015
Over Spring break, we headed to Sedona, AZ.
The main event was a visit to the Grand Canyon!
Stunning views. Cassie said it looked like a painting.
The highlight for the girls was the train ride to the Canyon and back. It was a tourist train ride with "train robbers" that came on board and all. This is them approaching the train. Gwen got a kick out of one of the "robbers" tying her shoe ;)
Lots of swimming, of course, with a beautiful backdrop of the red rocks of Sedona.
And Easter egg hunt and a visit with the Easter bunny!
We took a day trip to a state park outside of Sedona and had a picnic there.
We even visited Montezuma's Castle. It's a 3 story structure built into the cliffs
in the 1400's by native Americans. Pretty impressive!

Cassie's 8th birthday!
We now officially have an 8 year old! Cassie woke up to a box
filled with balloons & stuffed animals. A crepe paper trail wound around the
house which lead her to her birthday present.
Which was a brand new bike!
After school, I picked up her and her friend, Zach, from school
(the car was decorated on the inside) and they had some silly treats waiting for them.
Then we stopped and had frozen yogurt.
After that we went miniature golfing. They had so much fun :)
Then we met up with Zach's family at Cassie's fave restaurant, Chiefs.
Aunt Cathy even brought yummy cupcakes so she could make a wish.
Oh and on another note, she lost her other front tooth!

Gwen's 6th Birthday!
Calling all Superheroes! We celebrated Gwen's 6th birthday party superhero style.
Gwen was, of course, Wonder Woman. (We might be slightly obsessed with the show)
In the morning, Gwen woke up to bubble wrap down the hallway. I ended up leaving it there and all the kids from the party enjoyed popping the bubbles...running up and down the hallway over and over. Pop, pop, pop :)
We decorated superhero capes...
Face painted with superhero masks and wonder woman tiaras.
Aunt Cathy made this amazing Wonder Woman cake. What an exciting day!

Big Bear
We drove to Big Bear on New Year's Day. My parents even met us there! The cabin was adorable and the weather was just right....plenty of snow but not too cold. We had such a fun few days sledding, building snowmen & making snow angels. We even explored Big Bear Village a bit and drove all the way around the lake. Good times! This may just have to become an annual tradition :)
