G'day! We've just returned home from our 3 week holiday in Melbourne, Australia. We had a wonderful trip visiting with friends and family and of course a few sight seeing tours. Here are the highlights of week 1:
Here we are at one of the many cafe's we sat in, read in, ate in and talked in. The girls especially loved the crumpets and babyccinos (steamed milk with marshmallows and chocolate flakes).
Iconic Luna Park...it's like an old fashioned carnival.
Hence, the weird clown game
We rode "Puffing Billy". A steam train that stopped working about 50 years ago but has since been revived by local volunteers. Yes, it was OK to hang your legs over the side...part of the fun!
Grandma and cousin Jessica joined us too!
Here you can see the steam from the train in the cold mountain air.
We hopped off at the depot and were greeted by friendly galahs. Gwen was thrilled...
Cassie not so much.
Later in the week, we visited the historic Victoria Library.
We even enjoyed a children's story time about Bob's Fish & Chips shop. Very cute!
This is Albert Park. Anthony boated here as a child.
Hello native black swans
